Low Cost Aerial Target (LCAT)

The Low Cost Aerial Target is a fully autonomous, jet engine powered UAV capable of speeds in excess of 220 knots and flight durations over one hour. Developed as a joint venture between Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company of Palmdale,CA and AeroMech Engineering, Inc., the LCAT is capable of meeting demanding simulation and training needs at economical prices previously unobtainable with existing systems. Through the use of a mobile, high speed rail launcher, parachute recovery system, and self contained command and control equipment the LCAT system enables operations at government ranges without existing target control and support infrastructures.
